ESCAPE AND GET AWAY FROM IT ALL! Cro’s Nest is a lakefront home on property at the northern tip of the Door County peninsula. Cro’s Nest provides a remote private escape from the daily grind. Guests have loved their retreat at this beautiful home overlooking the waters of Lake Michigan and Green Bay. Enjoy views of Wisconsin Bay, Washington Island and the Plum Island lighthouse. You will be awed by the 3 story spiral staircase that takes you down to the water from the top of Table Bluff. Enjoy a swim or leisurely float in the waters known as “Death’s Door” - where Lake Michigan and Green Bay waters meet. The home has a large kitchen with newer stainless steel appliances and a Jenn-Aire gas range, large dining room that can seat 8 to 12, large master suite, 3 additional bedrooms, 2 loft areas, walk out basement with pool table, large sunroom off kitchen, multiple decks and patio areas. The water views and the stairway to the shore are AMAZING! Watch the pelicans, cranes, eagles, seagulls and other water birds soar by from the back deck or by the edge of the bluff. You won’t want to leave the beautiful backyard and you will never forget the nights by the fire, listening to the waves roll in and watching the sky change colors as the sun sets. Once darkness arrives, enjoy lights from Washington Island and the Plum Island and Escanaba lighthouses.

Summary: We enjoyed a great week at the Cro's Nest. Lee and Holly were there to greet us at check-in. They gave us a walk-through of the home and property, showing us where to find everything and how to operate stuff like the HVAC. There was an easy-to-follow reference book, with recommendations on sightseeing and places to eat. They stayed and answered all our questions, checked in with us during the week, and were very responsive to any inquiries we made during our stay. In our experience, best hosts ever. The house was perfect for our group of six. Kitchen is well stocked. Nicely decorated and incredibly clean. There is a pool table and tons of games to keep people entertained on bad weather days. There is no wifi or cable, which was fine for us. We had adequate cellular connectivity to make a call or browse the web, but some days that could only be done from the bay side of the building or outside towards the waterfront. Stronger connections can be found at coffee shops down the road, if needed. A TV is there with tons of DVD's, but we did not use it. The waterfront view is outstanding. We spent alot of time on the deck or chairs near the ledge enjoying the water, wildlife and view of tour boats and ferrys running out and back from Washington Island. We brought our boat with us. There is a public boat launch in Gills Rock with a $5 launch fee. We also did the Washinton Island Clipper + Viking Train tour - highly recommend it. We would definitely stay here again!
